Important! Please Read:
- Yes, Kennedy and Barstow High School Reunions will be held at The Orleans Hotel on the same weekend.
- However, as indicated above, the only formal joint event will be the Dance portion of the Saturday evening Events.
- We’ve intentionally organized both Reunions semi-jointly with the following considerations having been taken into account:
o We’re all able to benefit from reduced room block purchasing rates. This applies to both Occupancy Rooms and all Event Rooms.
o Subsequently, we’re all able to enjoy a prime, 3 Star Rated Hotel - like The Orleans, which offers an array of activities to meet the diverse needs of all those attending.
o We will also save a lot of money by splitting the costs for expenses related to Photography and Entertainment.
o We will be able to attract more Alumni than usual to this event because of the familiarity and accessibility to Las Vegas.
o The reunion schedule and logistics of The Orleans will provide us with the opportunity to meet together frequently in smaller social settings for meaningful visitation time, an option seldom available in past reunion settings. Thus…
o We’ll have the flexibility and opportunity to reminisce with our respective classmates as well as people we knew in grade school and intermediate.
o Even though both High Schools will be at The Orleans at the same time, we will still have complete autonomy in what we choose to do and with whom. With the exception of our Registration and Presentation Events, all Alumni are welcome to attend one another’s functions at will.
o Lastly, when you think about it, Spartans and Riffians alike have been products of schools that for some time have been without “claim to a country”, as it were. So we share a very real common bond between us. It’s time to…capitalize!

Please note the following:
All rates shown are net, per room, per night.
All rates are subject to room tax at twelve percent (12%).
A mandatory Resort Fee of $5.00 per room, per day, will be charged. This fee allows access to the Fitness Center, in-room coffee, unlimited local & 800 calls, as well as free Wi-Fi in Seattle’s Best Coffee Shop and High Speed Internet Access in the Hotels Business Center.
All guests will be required to post a refundable $100.00 security deposit via a credit card, upon arrival. (Review #5 Room Reservation Examples, below)
Photo identification will be required upon check-in! No exceptions.
Check in begins at 3:00 p.m.
Check out is at 12:00 noon.
Single or double occupancy is the same rate.
Rooms requiring triple or quad occupancy will be surcharged an additional $15.00 per guest, per room, per night. (Maximum is 4 adults & 4 children)
Children age 14 and under are free. (In the same room with parents in existing bedding.)

If you can’t register On-Line, call: 800-675-3267, and give the Hotel your Group Name (BKR Class of 71). Without this Group Name, you will not receive the special group rate!!
Please note the following: Individual accounts will be created for you when you register. You will be responsible for your own account. The equivalent of one (1) night’s room (Review #5 Room Reservation Examples, below) and tax will be required in either the form of a credit card with expiration date, company/personal check, American Express; Diners Club; MasterCard; Discover; VISA; or Cashier’s Check. ‘The Orleans’ accepts company/personal checks for payment of deposits only and must be received a minimum of thirty (30) days prior to arrival date.
5. Room Reservation Examples:
When a reservation is made on the phone or web, you:
a. Pay the 1st nights stay with tax to hold the reservation.
- Example: $79.00 + $9.48 = $88.48
(Sales Tax Rate .12%)
b. When you check in, the remaining balance for your room is paid with tax, PLUS an additional $100 deposit that’s refunded at checkout.
Example: $79.00 + $9.48 = $88.48 (For Sat. Night @ Check-in)
+10.00 (Resort Fee @ 5.00 p/night)
98.48 Sub-Total
+100.00 (Dep. Refundable)
$198.48 Total @ Check-in
Please Note: The Room costs DO NOT include Reunion festivities. You will be notified of the Reunion Cost (which will include meals) in the near future.
6. IMPORTANT Please Read
If you have any questions or concerns that are specifically related to Room Rates or Reservation Procedures or you require a handicap room, PLEASE CALL THE ORLEANS DIRECTLY ASAP. They’re a great group of people to work with, they know their business far better than we do, and it’s their job to assist you with this stuff, not the committee’s.
HOWEVER, if you have any questions that are NOT covered in this material that are UN-RELATED to THE ORLEANS by all means shoot us an email or give us a call. Check your last email dated Dec. 20th, for contact numbers.
LASTLY: Please plan ahead and get your reservations in ASAP!! Way before the May 16th Deadline if at all possible. Here’s why: THERE ARE NO ROOM RATE GUARANTEES AFTER THIS DATE!! This is PRIME TIME BOOKING for the Hotel, which means the likelihood of additional rooms being available beyond 5-16-11 is extremely questionable. So, jump at this opportunity and get your reservations taken care of earlier than May 1st if at all possible!!
Additionally, knowing what the reservation numbers are will help the committee in firming up our Group Totals - which in turn will help us tremendously in our Event Planning during the Reunion.
